PALMEIRAS AWAY BY ADIDAS
Palmeiras and Adidas have revealed the new away kit for the Brazilian side. The kit is inspired by one of the club's biggest achievements, the winning of the Sao Paulo championship in 1942.
In 1942, Brazil declared war on the Axis Powers (Germany, Italy and Spain) and this led to the banning of any names related to these powers. This meant Palestra had to become Palmeiras. At the time, the club was undefeated in the state championship and needed to win their next game, but with the pressure of the field, they changed their name to 'Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras.' In the debut match under their new identity, they won and won the Campeonato Paulista.
An ode to this special time as a club is placed on the back of the shirt where it states "Nasce o Palmeiras Campeão" meaning 'The Winners Palmeiras are Born'.
The shirt features Adidas' ClimaCool technology to keep moisture out and players dry. This allows for increased ventilation, increasing performance levels.
The uniform will be on sale from this Thursday (29) by the site www.adidas.com.br/palmeiras , own stores and official stores of the club.
