THE BRIDGE - UN PONTE PER LAMPEDUSA

The community on the small island of Lampedusa has very directly felt the impact of the ever-increasing global refugee crisis. With a growing number of refugees arriving on its shores each month, the island has become known for its comparatively compassionate and welcoming response. 

Continuing in this vein, the official charity of the Italian Serie B, B Solidale Onlus, is guiding an uplifting effort to fund a fully equipped soccer pitch on Lempedusa. The project, aptly named "The Bridge," hopes to engender a "social hub" that "could be a strong unifying force for everyone living and arriving there."
